History
During the summer of 1968, a family man, Richard Joseph Sr. created Joseph Construction in Missoula, Montana. By seeing an opportunity in maintenance-free siding, Joseph Construction entered the market eager to be the best. Joseph Construction became the first distribution company of maintenance-free siding through out the Northwest down to Oakland, California. Throughout this time, Richard’s son was helping his father grow the family business. Rick Joseph, Jr. would work in the warehouse sweeping floors, picking up nails, or helping his father with any miscellaneous tasks learning the business from the ground up. The company is the main focus of the Joseph family, but from the start their interest stretched to their community with a desire to create a better place for all.
Distribution was only a beginning point for Joseph Construction. Being a leader in the industry meant being at the forefront of development for many maintenance free products we all use today, such as; vinyl windows, railings, aluminum, composite and steel siding. In 1976, Joseph Construction received the United States Steel Alside Outstanding Sales Award. Joseph Construction also had the opportunity to side the tallest building covered in steel siding at the Ridge at Lake Tahoe, a historical site called The Alameda Coast Guard Station in California, and the largest vinyl sided building Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, California.
Due to the immense growth in the company, Joseph Construction was transformed into Richard Joseph & Company and initially relocated to Hayward, California.. In 1997 drawn by the potential for growth and the family friendly community, Richard Joseph & Company moved to Sparks, Nevada. Richard Joseph & Company continued to grow, serving all 50 states, which allowed the opportunity to work on well-known projects through out the country. The Skagit Casino Resort in Washington, Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm, Nevada, Thomas Mack Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Hilton Hotel in New York City, Snowmass Resort in Snowmass, Colorado, and many more.
In July of 2008, Richard Joseph & Company celebrated 40 years of excellence in the construction industry. A proclamation was drafted by the City of Reno to recognize Richard Joseph & Company for their commitment to the community and success as a company.
Joseph Construction was at the forefront of development for many maintenance free products, now; Richard Joseph & Company carries on that tradition by being a part of new innovative products coming to the market that only Richard Joseph & Company has been granted exclusive access. Expanding products lines and services available to their clients is a continued goal for Richard Joseph & Company to meet and exceed on a daily basis.
